Expanding our production capacity and warehouse to support future growth
Over the past few years, demand for HEC-Holland’s cable tapes and insulation materials has grown significantly. We are grateful for the confidence our customers continue to place in us. During periods of exceptional demand, however, our production capacity and warehouse operations came under increasing pressure, and some deliveries took longer than we strive for. Rather than accepting these limitations, we chose to invest.
Over the past months, HEC-Holland has made significant investments in expanding its production facilities, warehouse capacity and team. These investments strengthen our ability to support future growth while further improving the service, flexibility and delivery performance our customers expect from us.
Our investments include:
- a new high-capacity automated slitting & converting line
- approximately 500,000 m² additional monthly production capacity
- an expanded warehouse with high-capacity pallet racking
- additional production and warehouse personnel
- modern lifting equipment for safer and more efficient handling
- new waste handling and filtration systems supporting more sustainable production
For our customers these improvements translate into:
- shorter lead times
- greater production flexibility
- improved delivery reliability
- better support for long-term supply agreements
- increased capacity for larger and recurring projects
Our goal is simple: to continue delivering the reliability, flexibility and service our customers expect, today and in the future.
Below we would like to introduce the key investments that make this possible.
New automated slitting & converting line
This new high-performance slitting line is equipped with laser-guided detection, a rewinder with two rewinding shafts and an integrated shaftless unwinder. The machine is designed for converting a wide range of flexible materials and will mainly be used for slitting our cable tapes.
With this additional expansion, we are increasing our production capacity by approximately 500.000 m² per month. This gives us more flexibility, shorter lead times and additional capacity to support both existing and new customer demand.
Another important advantage of the new line is the possibility to produce pads with a larger outside diameter. While our standard machines can slit up to approximately 800 mm OD, the new production line can produce pads up to 1.000 mm OD. This offers additional flexibility for customers requiring larger pads and may help reduce handling and changeovers in further processing. At the same time, we remain able to supply pads in the wide variety of inner diameters that our customers are used to from HEC-Holland.
Customer benefits: Higher capacity, shorter lead times and the possibility to produce pads up to 1,000 mm OD.
Expanded warehouse
Alongside the expansion of our production capacity, we have significantly upgraded our warehouse facilities. New high-capacity pallet racking has increased our storage capacity for both raw materials and finished products while improving warehouse organisation and logistics.
The additional warehouse space enables us to maintain higher inventory levels, improve internal logistics and respond more quickly to customer demand.
Customer benefits: Higher stock availability, improved planning and more reliable deliveries.
Investing in our people
Growth is not only about machines. During the past year we have strengthened our production, warehouse and logistics teams with additional colleagues. Together with our new equipment, this enables us to process orders more efficiently while maintaining the high service level our customers expect.
Sustainability and safer production
We have also installed a new scrap cutting and filter system for all our slitting lines. This system safely cuts, transports and separates production waste, while allowing clean warm air to be returned into our facility during colder seasons or discharged outside during warmer periods.
In addition, we have invested in modern push/waste containers to compact production waste more efficiently, helping to reduce transport movements by a factor of approximately 3 to 4, depending on the type of slitting waste.
Furthermore, the new line is equipped with modern electric and pneumatic handling equipment to support our most valuable assets in production: our co-workers and operators. This makes the production process not only more efficient, but also safer and more ergonomic.
Looking ahead
These developments mark an important milestone in HEC-Holland’s continued development. By expanding our production capacity, warehouse, team and operational efficiency, we are well positioned to support the future growth of our customers.
We look forward to continuing to build long-term partnerships based on quality, reliability and service.
