HEC staff in product training

HEC-Holland has been adding extra value to the chain for over 15 years. Our cutting-edge slitting facility in Tilburg, the Netherlands, is dedicated to providing converting solutions tailored for the cable and wire industry. In order to keep high quality standards in our production facility, Kurt fulfilled a product training.

In our cutting-edge slitting facility, precision meets efficiency. Specializing in tailored solutions, we employ a make-to-order strategy to meet your unique requirements. Our adept team excels at slitting, cutting and winding cable tapes and foils. From polyester-based tapes, with or without swelling properties, we deliver customized dimensions, guaranteeing each product aligns with your exact specifications. Our slitting facility is capable of slitting a broad range of cable tapes and foils, including: PE, PET, PP-Foamed, Mica and different kinds of metals (copper, aluminium and steel). With a commitment to quality and modern technology, our facility stands at the forefront of the industry. We promise to deliver excellence in every slit, cut, and wind.

Product Training for HEC staff

Kurt, our production manager, oversees all processes within the slitting facility. Together with his colleagues, he is passionate to coordinate tailor-made solutions for our customers. In order to uphold the quality standards of our production facility, it is important our staff stays updated with the latest knowledge and experience keeping our facility in an optimal state.

Therefore, our production manager travelled to our suppliers in China together with our product manager, immersing themselves in an extensive training on slitting various materials used for cable tapes and foils. The training sessions, spanning multiple days and multiple suppliers, covered every production step, from setting up machines, installing knives, slitting material to handling and troubleshooting. This comprehensive training equips our team to navigate through the process of transforming raw materials into personalized end-user products.

Building partnerships: Special thanks to our Suppliers

In extending our gratitude to our suppliers, we acknowledge their commitment to the growth and proficiency of our staff. The training not only deepened our technical expertise but also fostered discussions about material quality and production challenges. These dialogues contribute to mutual improvement, enhancing the value we provide to our customers.

Together we connect the world of tomorrow!

Movement from Goch to Tilburg

Movement from Goch to Tilburg

HEC-Holland is still growing fast, also during the COVID-19 pandemic. Because of this, we were forced to move from our small warehouse in Goch to a much larger warehouse in Tilburg. In this new warehouse we are able to place more slitting machines and we can store more products. In addition, the warehouse includes a large office space with all facilities, where we can meet our suppliers and customers. The location of our warehouse is fantastic, as it is just a few minutes from Barge Terminal Tilburg. Moreover, Tilburg has a direct train connection with central Europe and Asia. We are very happy with our new warehouse in Tilburg: the logistics hotspot of the Netherlands.

Expansion of production capacity

The growth of our company has, among others, led to the expansion of our production capacity. We have our own slitting facility since one year now, however we are close to full capacity. For this reason, we are looking for new slitting machines. One year ago, we could not imagine that we already have to look for these new machines. The slitting facility that we have now, is for slitting water blocking tapes. We are now in the process of buying a new machine that can slit aluminum tapes, so that our production department can convert locally. This process was intended for one year ago, but unfortunately we had to postpone this due to corona. Nevertheless, we are very happy that this process is coming to an end.

Expansion product assortment

Additionally to the physical expansion, we spend a lot of time on setting up our ERP system. Our product assortment is growing since our office in Shanghai is busy with building relationships with new suppliers. Our colleagues in Shanghai speak the same language and have the same culture as most of our suppliers, which make it more easy to build a valuable relationship. We hope to optimize these relationships even further in the future.

Greetings from our Production Leader Kurt

Kurt production leader HEC-Holland
Our expansion on storage capacity and production in Goch, Germany created a wish for some extra HEC-power. Since September 2020, Kurt Aarts is the new production leader / Head of warehousing, distribution and converting facilities at HEC-Holland. This young man at his 48’s is now part of our dedicated team.

Production leader Kurt

Kurt is the right person when most needed not only for HEC, but also for children and young adults who cannot live at home for several reasons. Outside of the workplace he takes care of these kids together with his family and enables a better daily life for those in need. There is no missing attitude towards work in Kurt as he also rebuilds and remodels the house of his family in spare time. All this indicates good organizational skills which is one of the reasons why Kurt is there to maintain effective distribution and production for our customers. Kurt emphasizes that, for instance, to secure in-time deliveries it is important that the production demand is regularly predicted and that planning stays flexible. The small and dynamic team of HEC-Holland manages this by ensuring short lines of communication within our departments.

Question of the day

As a game changer in the international wire and cable market, HEC-Holland has eased the daily basis in Goch with a new 100% electric company car and an electrical fork-lift. We were curious to ask Kurt which one of them he is more happy to drive with. His diplomatic answer: “I’m very happy to drive an electric car for HEC. The fork-lift, however, is also an indispensable asset. It allows us to stack goods quickly, easily, and flexibly transport them from A to B. So i like both actually.” Don’t hesitate to contact us in case of questions! You can also stay updated by following our company’s LinkedIn page.

The Final Countdown for local Aluminum Converting

Aluminum Converting

HEC-Holland is looking forward that within Q2-2021 it will be the time to celebrate together the start of our local production of aluminum tape at our newly build production facility in Goch, Germany. Thus starts the production of aluminum converting to maintain a stable stream of aluminum tapes for our customers.

Last year the production line and equipment arrived at our newly build hall. However, at that time the Corona Lockdown came. This unfortunately stopped all preparation and installing of the new state of the art aluminum slitting line. Several months passed by and as of Q3-2020, our team of Dutch and German engineers started to take over a part of the commission from our counterpart. The last part needs to be performed under the supervision of our partner from which we bought the machine. However, due to the latest lockdown which started mid-December we have to wait till the final installation works can be completed.

The new state-of-the-art slitting machine is capable of handling and converting the requested sizes on aluminum tapes. We are able to convert up to 4.100 meter per pad, within average 2-3 weeks lead-time from order intake. More information is to follow on the exact date when our production goes live.

We are proud to say that this will have an impact on the European cable industry which can benefit from Asian price settings and the European expertise, flexibility, and short lead times of high-end quality products.

New Distribution Center

In line with our dedication to meeting customer needs, we have embarked on a significant expansion endeavor. As highlighted in our recent newsletter, we are thrilled to announce the construction of a new distribution center. This center has two production halls. Our converting and slitting capacity is considerally bolstered with this new addition. In addition, this strategic investment aims to elevate our position within the cable and wire industry. Moreover, we recognize the critical importance of efficient warehousing and distribution. To this end, we initiate the construction of two state-of-the-art warehouses that will effectively double our storage capacity, encompassing a generous 5,000 square meters. By July this year these new warehouses will be ready, marking a pivotal milestone in our company’s journey.

The expansion represents a significant stride forward in our commitment to innovation. By consolidating our services at a single location, we anticipate a boost in production speed and greater flexibility in managing order intakes and delivery schedules. These enhancements directly benefit our clientele in the cable and wire industry.

Furthermore, we are proud to announce the addition of a cutting-edge distribution center to our network. Compliant with the latest industry standards, this distribution center complements our existing facilities in Europe.
